Fuzhou University Jinjiang Campus, a key component of WYP master planned Jinjiang Garden Town, locally named as Talent Dream Town, is reaching a milestone. The Garden Town scheme is local’s response to Chinese Central Governments Belt & Road Initiative and Countryside Revitalisation. Covering 3 square kilometres, the town consists of a new university campus, historical fishing villages as well as a continuous picturesque coastline.

The seaside campus, intended as a regional hub for higher education and research, will attract young talents to study and stay, support high-tech businesses in nearby cities and also help transform the surrounding rural economy.

The 60 ha campus will be built over three phases, eventually accommodating over two thousand university students along with teaching and research staff. Its first phase, designed by Shenzhen Central Institute of Architectural Design & Research, is now near completion and will become operational in autumn for eight hundred postgraduate students. The phase one facilities include teaching buildings, accommodations for students and staff, laboratory, library, arts centre as well as international standard sports grounds and stadium to host the World Gymnaside 2020.
